Emberhollow Tales
Emberhollow Tales is the kind of RPG I keep going back to. You play a wandering healer pulled into a slow-burning mystery across a set of connected villages. The writing is surprisingly warm, and the choices you make actually shift how townsfolk treat you later. It runs completely offline, which made it my go-to on flights.
Combat is turn-based and readable. Each character has a small kit of skills, and positioning matters more than raw numbers. I liked that fights rarely dragged — even random encounters wrap up in a minute or two once you know your party.
The art carries a lot of the charm. Everything is hand-drawn with a soft, storybook feel, and the soundtrack loops quietly without getting annoying. If you want a long adventure to sink into over a couple of weeks, this one delivers.
